Christopher A. Birkhead

Christopher Aaron Birkhead (Chris), 49, of McPherson, Kansas, went home to be with the Lord October 27, 2024. Chris was born to Keith and Evelyn Birkhead on January 7, 1975, in Garland, TX. His family moved to McPherson in 1978.

Chris graduated from McPherson High School in 1996 and was a member of First Baptist Church, McPherson. After graduating from high school, Chris was employed by People’s Bank and Trust for ten years, a job he enjoyed very much.

Chris was a people person and never met a stranger. He loved music, Elvis, practical jokes and his daily coffee. 

Chris is survived by his father, Keith Birkhead of McPherson; sister, Leanne Rogers and her husband Jerry of McPherson; nephews, Jonathan Rogers and his wife, Katie of Norman, OK, and Jacob Rogers of Oklahoma City, OK; niece, Lauren Rogers of McPherson; and caregivers, Susan Feltman (a second mother for 29 years), Tami Schropp, Missy Ducimetiere, and Brenda Newberry. His mother precedes Chris in death.

A celebration of life service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, November 2, 2024, at First Baptist Church of McPherson. The family will receive friends from 10:00 a.m. until service time on Saturday at the church. A private family burial will be held on Saturday at McPherson Cemetery.
